Aaye kuch abr kuch sharaab aaye By Faiz Ahmad Faiz English Translation

Aaye kuch abr kuch sharaab aaye
Uske baad aaye jo azaab aaye

Let some respite, some drink may come!

Then after Whatever calamity may come!

Baam-e-Minaa se maahtaab utare

Dast-e-saaqi mein aaftaab aaye

Moon descends from bottle top

Let sun, from hands of saqi come!

Har rag-e-khoon mein phir charaagaan ho

Saamne phir woh benaqaab aaye

My every vein will luminously flow

Unveiled beloved once may come!

Umr ke har waraq pe dil ko nazar

Teri mehr-o-wafaa ke baab aaye

On every page of life, my heart saw

Letters written of your fidelity did come!

Kar rahaa tha gham-e-jahaan ka hisaab

Aaj tum yaad behisaab aaye

I was reckoning torments of this world

Your countless memories did come!

Na gayee tere gham ki sardaari

Dil mein yunh roz inqalaab aaye

Supremacy of your grief hasn’t gone yet

New rebellion in heart, each day may come!

Jal uthe bazm-e-ghair ke dar-o-baam

Jab bhi hum khaanaman kharaab aaye
every wall and roof of my rival shall burn

Whenever broken hearted we will come

Is taraah apni khaamoshi goonjee

Goya har simt se jawaab aaye

Let my silence wisper in every corner

As if answer from every nook shall come

Faiz thi raah sarbasar manzil

Hum jahaan pahunche kaamyaaab aaye

Faiz I was walking on path of my destination

Wherever we reached, victorious we did come!
