Dono jahaan teri muhabbat main haar ke
Voh jaa rahaa hai koi shab-e-gam guzaar ke

Having lost both the worlds in your love

He is leaving after long night of grief

 

Veeran hai maykada, khum-o-saagar udaas hai
Tum kyaa gaye ke rooth gaye din bahaar ke

Kiosk is barren, every vessel is distressed

Each day of spring is gone with you

 

Ek fursat-e-gunaah mili, woh bhi chaar din

Dekhe hain hum ne hausle parwardigaar ke

A short life of few moments we got

I have seen his (God’s) generosity!

 

Duniya ne teri yaad se begaana kar diyaa
Tujshe bhi dil-fareb hai, gam rozgaar ke

Worldly affairs took me far from your remembrance

Pangs of livelihood made this heart forget you

 

Bhoole se muskara to diye the voh aaj “faiz”
Mat poocho valvale dil-e-nakardaa kaar ke
